Public speaking gigs are a great way to showcase your talents and your expertise. Speaking as an expert in front of any size audience is a great way to build your brand identity. One public speaking engagement can lead to another and another, allowing you to grow more quickly.
Relevant Content
Once you have identified your presentation topics, you can then create multiple presentations to fill any length of time requested. The key is to deliver relevant content that is useful, allows the audience to have an experience of your style and the value your services bring to the market.

Public speaking is a great way to showcase your talents and your expertise.
Speaking Out of Turn
A word of caution: sometimes, you’ll be asked to speak at events that are not beneficial to you. Organizations and clubs are often looking for guest speakers to come and share their knowledge and sometimes, those events are not for you.
Qualify the Audience
In any public speaking opportunity, make sure your ideal client is in the audience. When they give you the topic, make sure it is in alignment with your messaging. It makes no sense to speak to those who are not interested in what you have to share. Determine if there are potential business opportunities or connections you might make as a guest speaker.
Marketing Opportunities
Gaining new marketing opportunities should be the goal of any public speaking engagement. Will the event coordinator provide you with registration information so that you can do your own follow up? Can you bring marketing material to hand out at the event? Are you able to make an offer of your services to the audience? Be sure that you will get a return on your time investment in the way of new contacts.

Make sure the environment offers everything you need to speak.
Environment
Before saying “Yes!” to speak in front of an audience, make sure the environment offers you everything you need to speak effectively. Nothing is worse than preparing a speech that you cannot deliver with impact because the audience cannot hear you the room is too large or small. Verify that the technology you need is available.
Bonus
A big bonus to any public speaking gig will be a recording of your presentation! Ask if they will be recording you and if you can have a copy for marketing purposes. If not, you might consider hiring someone to record you for later marketing. It might be the perfect time to have a professional photographer catch you in action!
We highly recommend public speaking as a great opportunity to tell the world about your coaching services!
