Digital Training – Risks and Benefits

Digital training is a great way for you to grow your business and increase your revenue. Train once, record it, and package it up for resale. You can use it as a self-paced course, or as a supplement to live coaching. Here are a few things to consider as you plan your training or courses:

Training Delivery

You will typically integrate presentation slides, worksheets and exercises into your digital training. Once purchased, training can be delivered as simply as providing a DropBox or YouTube link. Or, you can upload it to a platform that provides client access and opportunities to answer questions and provide follow up. Before making an investment, be sure your training is tested and profitable.

Digital training can be delivered through online platforms.

Risks

There are some risks involved in offering and selling your digital training. Common problems include being unable to market your courses to your target audience, a low completion rate and a high No Show rate. Because digital training often has a lower price point, those who buy may be less committed to completing the course work. According to online studies, only 15% of people actually finish the training! This can make it difficult to build relationships and keep clients.

In addition, there may be a frustrating learning curve for your client. Technology challenges are real! Make sure you use a service that is easy for both you and your client to use.

Benefits

Overall, the benefits of digital training outweigh the risks. Because your content is recorded and delivered without you being present, you save time and money. You may also have a greater market reach. You can attract clients in other states and countries. Digital training courses usually cost a fraction of an in-person training, thus offering a lower cost to your client.

Digital training courses can add revenue to your bank account!

Extra Revenue

The right digital training can be very lucrative and bring extra revenue to your bank account. Creating a course, testing it, and promoting it properly can provide you with a turn-key source of income that frees you to pursue other business.  From there, you can build your list of contacts and up-sell additional training or coaching.

Creating and marketing an online course is a great way to grow your coaching practice and offer solid, transformational content to your ideal clients.
