Why You need More than Purpose and Passion

Purpose is the life blood of a coaching practice. For most coaches, coaching is not just a job – it’s a “calling.” It’s more than a profession. It’s a feeling deep down that says, “I cannot NOT coach.”

Knowing your purpose can clarify your vision for your coaching practice.

More than Purpose

Coaches often find themselves pulled toward this path because they know the transformative power of guidance and support. But here’s the thing: while you may feel an unstoppable desire to help others, building a sustainable coaching business requires more than purpose and passion.

If you’re a new coach who’s recently been certified, or someone who’s passionate about coaching but not yet certified, it can feel overwhelming trying to figure out where to start. Most certifications focus on the skills of coaching, but leave out the crucial part of how to actually set up and grow a successful business.

Time to Thrive

And even for those experienced coaches who have been at it for a while but haven’t been able to truly thrive—feeling the impact of your calling doesn’t always translate into business success without the right knowledge and tools. Your “calling” cannot be denied. Your purpose cannot be ignored. Building a thriving coaching practice takes different skills and knowledge. But understanding your calling, your vision and your beliefs is essential because it has a direct influence on your coaching practice.

Purpose to Productivity

Once you add vision to your purpose, your productivity will increase. You will have clarity around who you are called to serve, what they need and how your solutions can help. This clarity is the spark that will drive you into action! Clear vision brings confidence and that confidence will be infused into your offerings and allow potential clients to see the benefit of working with you.

You need more than purpose to launch and grow a thriving coaching business.

Launch and Grow

Acknowledging your purpose and understanding your vision and beliefs is a great start to launching a coaching practice. There are, however, many practical steps to actually growing a thriving business. Creating your coaching package(s) and/or a workshop will give you something to offer. Marketing what you offer requires different skills and will likely mean that you move beyond your purpose. Finding out where your ideal client is present, developing a marketing plan, and installing systems will make the difference between a coaching business and a coaching hobby.

Grow with Purpose

Use your purpose to grow! You have been called to coach and you can look around and see that the world needs more coaches. A coach needs a thriving coaching practice to fulfill their purpose. And they also need a little help from their friends! That’s why tapping into a program that offers frequent, LIVE support can be beneficial. Going it alone will likely cause success to be more slow in coming.
